Select A Location
Tack-it classified postings are community centered and postings are displayed based on this concept. Postings are displayed in relation to each user based on your individual location. When you first access Tack-it you are prompted to enter your postal code (zip code). By entering your postal code Tack-it determines your location and automatically finds all classified postings within a predetermined convenient distance. Tack-it then places a cookie (reminder of your location) into your browser for faster access on your return visits.
Pick a Category
After entering your location you will have access to all Tack-it categories and any postings contained within them. Tack-it displays a number to the right of each category. This number indicates the number of postings within that category. Knowing that a category is empty at that moment will prevent 'blind' searching.
As you move your cursor over the individual categories you will notice a "Category Example" box to the right. This box will display examples of items typically found within each category.
Choose your category. Once a category is 'clicked' a list of postings appears. The 'Key' located at the top of the page will help you determine a number of facts about each posting. You can also use the "Sort By' box in the upper right corner to change from seeing 'All' postings to those postings submitted by a particular user group.
View the Posting
Once you find a posting that interests you, use your cursor and click on it. The classified posting and all details contained within the posting will then be displayed. Tack-it provides a method for you to contact the individual user of the posting if you are interested. Tack-it also provides tools to report questionable postings, print options and more.
Tack-it also provides an 'Advance Search' option. This option can be used to customize your search. You can change your location at any time by entering a new postal code in the box provided at the top of each page.
Please take time to visit the local businesses that sponsor the classified postings in your area. Also remember to check back often as our classified postings are always changing as are the offers by your community businesses. Watch for our 'Featured' sponsors, these special sponsors change weekly.
