Who can post classified ads? Both those users wishing to post a classified for personal use as well as those representing a local small business are permitted to post classified ads on Tack-it free of charge. For those placing classifieds for the benefit of a small business, there are a few additional rules, restrictions and guidelines to follow. Must I register a user account to post classified ads? Yes. Anyone wishing to post a classified ad must first create a user account. Registration is quick and only requires limited information. Most information collected is related to your classified posting and the remaining few questions for administrative purposes only. Tack-it does not participate in the selling or trading of any information contained within our classified user accounts.

Is an email address required to post classified ads? No. Tack-it does NOT require an email address to post a classified ad. However, you must have a minimum of one form of contact available to post a classified. If you decide not to use an email address, a phone number will be required. Email addresses are not displayed to users. Forms are offered as a means of contact and will forward initial messages to the email address on record. If a phone number is preferred, your phone number will only display when requested by an interested user.

How many classified ads can I post? There are no limits to the total number of classified postings an individual or those representing a business may submit.

Are there any costs for posting a classified ad? No. All classified posting services are free to all users.

Are there restrictions regarding what may be posted? Yes. Please review Tack-it's Terms & Conditions for a list of restricted and/or prohibited classified postings.

What information is required to create a user account? General information is collected at the time of registration for posting classified ads on Tack-it. No Personally Identifiable Information is requested or required. Most information collected is for the purpose of creating your classified postings and the remaining information is for administrative purposes only. No user account information is sold to third parties.

What information from my user account is seen by others? Classified postings only display information which you place into your classified postings, the general location of the posting and if the posting was placed by an individual or person representing a business. A phone number is displayed only if when a user has supplied and chooses to allow it as a means of communication. Classified postings by individuals representing a business are required to supply BOTH an email and phone as a means of contact.

I represent a business, can I post classified ads? Yes. Those wishing to post a classified for a single item or service, for the benefit of a business, may do so. There are additional restrictions to those posting on behalf of a business. Please review the Terms & Conditions for more details.

Can a photo be included in a posting? Yes. Each classified posting is allowed multiple photos to be uploaded along with the posting. Each posting must first be completed prior to a photo being assigned/attached with it. Tack-it only accepts JPG and PNG format images. Most digital cameras use one of these two formats. The Tack-it system will automatically adjust your image for size when you submit it. For large pixel images, we recommend editing the image to a smaller JPG size. This will speed the process of adding the image to your posting.

Does Tack-it sell / trade user account information? No. No user account information is sold or traded with third parties.

Can I renew a classified posting if my item does not sell? Yes. Each time a classified posting is about to expire or has recently expired, the user may choose to renew the posting. Currently there are NO limits to the number of times a posting may be renewed, whether placed by an individual or placed by users representing a business. You will receive an automated reminder prior to and just following a posting expiring. This feature is located in your account settings and by default is turned 'On'.

I have found a questionable posting. Now what? If at any time you find a posting that does not meet the Terms & Conditions, guidelines or overall family friendly feel of Tack-it, please feel free to use the available 'Flag' option. Classified postings that are flagged are sent to the administrator for review and removal.

What if I've lost my password? If you have lost your password, simply navigate to the 'Login' page, enter your user name and choose the 'Lost Password' option. The Tack-it system will send a new randomly generated password to the email on record. Once you receive your new password, return to Tack-it and log into your account using this new password. Please change your password once you have entered your account.

What if I've lost my Classified User Name? If you have lost your user name, Tack-it will not be able to gain access to your classified user account. You will need to create a new classified account, user name and password.

Can I edit my classified posting? Yes. At any point you may enter back into a classified posting and make adjustments as needed or upload an image.

Must I have a user account to view other postings? No. Anyone visiting Tack-it may view any number of classified postings and submit contact requests.

How do I contact another user regarding a posting? Anyone wishing to contact a user regarding a classified posting may do so by using the 'Contact' button available with each posting. Your message will be automatically sent to the appropriate user. Whether or not you receive a response is determined by the user who posted the classified. If a phone number is provided, the user posting the classified has offered this as a means of contact.

Can I prevent being contacted by solicitors? No. No system is full proof. However, you can make it clear that you only wish to be contacted by those personally interested. When posting a classified you have the option to display your preferences. If you do receive unwanted contacts, do not respond. Tack-it does everything possible to prevent unwanted spam and will continue to make any necessary changes as needed to do so.

I've experienced a poor transaction. Now what? All users of Tack-it services are responsible for their own transactions and interactions. It is important to take care in your dealings with others on and through this site. If you have been the victim of an unlawful or fraudulent transaction, Tack-it advises you contact your local law enforcement.

Can I post firearms / weapons? Yes, but use great caution when doing so. You are FULLY responsible for the transaction, following any applicable laws and the outcome of any such transaction. Tack-it does not participate in any transaction. Tack-it highly recommends that you contact local authorities PRIOR to posting or selling any firearm through Tack-it classifieds. There are restrictions posted in the Terms & Conditions, please take time to review these.

I've posted a classified that is now blocked. Now what? If you have a classified posting that has been blocked, that posting may no longer be available to you. It is likely that it has been blocked due to content within the posting not meeting Tack-it standards. Users have reported or 'Flagged' the posting for one or more reasons. If this is the case, your posting may be reviewed by Tack-it. Tack-it may determine if the posting can be returned to the site for viewing. Tack-it will not communicate with you regarding your blocked posting. Most blocked postings are reviewed within 4 days of being blocked. If the posting is reviewed and it is determined the posting was blocked in error, you will see the posting become available again within your account.

My classified user account is blocked. Now what? If your classified user account has been blocked, it is likely due to numerous flagged postings or not conforming to the Terms & Conditions. If users repeatedly report or 'Flag' postings from your account, your account may become blocked from access. Blocked user accounts are NOT reviewed unless the user requests a review. Tack-it reserves the right to cancel any user account at any time, for any reason. All decisions by Tack-it are final.

How and why do I see Sponsor Advertisements? Tack-it provides this classified posting service free to users. Tack-it also provides an environment for local businesses to reach out to internet users within their own communities. These sponsors help support this service. As such, Tack-it encourages you to take a moment and see what these sponsors have to offer.

I have found a poor Sponsor ad. Now what? If at any time you find a sponsor ad that is questionable, please feel free to contact Tack-it. Take care to note the sponsor name, reason for the report, postal code which you are searching, date questionable ad was seen and any other information you feel may be important.
