Local Sponsor  Ideal for the small business looking to market locally or target specific surrounding communities.  Coverage for each 'Local' Sponsor Subscription is based on a specific primary 5 digit postal code.  'Local' Subscriptions are displayed according to each Tack-it user based on their postal code.  Example: You have purchased a one year 'Local' Subscription to 49505.  Each Tack-it user accessing or using the site from 49505 may see any number of your available display ads contained in your Sponsor Account.

Local Category Sponsor  A good choice if your looking to target specific market groups locally or in surrounding communities.  'Local Category' Sponsor Subscriptions are based on a specific classified category within a specified 5 digit postal code.  'Local Category' Subscriptions are displayed based on the user's postal code and one specific classified category.  Example: You have purchased a one year 'Local Category' Subscription to 49505, within the 'Real Estate for Sale' category.  Each Tack-it user accessing or using the site from 49505, while searching through any classified postings within the 'Real Estate for Sale' will see any number of your available display ads contained in your Sponsor Account.  There is only one Local Category Subscription available per classified category, per postal code.  With a Local Category Subscription, you are assured that each user within that postal code, and within that specific Category will see your advertisements.

Regional Sponsor  Ideal for the business looking to market within a larger region.  Coverage for each 'Regional' Sponsor Subscription is based on a state level.  'Regional' Subscriptions are displayed according to each Tack-it user's postal code and their associated state.  Example: You have purchased a one year 'Regional' Subscription to Michigan.  Each Tack-it user accessing or using the site from within the State of Michigan may see any number of your available display ads contained in your Sponsor Account.  A great option for that specialized business, destination related, resort, college/university, or similar.

Charity of the Month  Receive recognition on a national level to all Tack-it users as part of our 'Charity of the Month' promotional program.  Tack-it's 'Charity of the Month' is one of three specialized and nationally recognized sponsor positions.  Regional recognition may also be available to those smaller non-profit charities looking to draw more attention to their cause.  The ad spot is awarded to applicants of various non-profit charitable organizations that exist throughout the US.  There are no costs associated with this particular sponsor recognition, it is simply an opportunity for Tack-it to give back to the communities it serves.  Those wishing to be considered and participate must submit an application (Application Here).  The charitable organization that receives this recognition will be required to set up a Sponsor Account.  There are no costs associated with setting up a Sponsor Account.  Award notifications will be made a minimum of 30 days prior to the organization's scheduled coverage.  All decisions are at the sole discretion of Tack-it.  Tack-it reserves the right to cancel any scheduled Charity of the Month Sponsor at any time for any reason.  Tack-it makes no warranty as to the response rate or resulting donations to participants of this promotional recognition.

Sponsor of the Week  Receive recognition on a national level to all Tack-it users as part of our 'Sponsor of the Week' program.  Tack-it's 'Sponsor of the Week' is one of three specialized and nationally recognized sponsor positions.  The promotional spot is awarded to applicants based on two primary considerations.  These considerations include a non-traditional 'bid' process coupled with the uniqueness of each individual applicant.  The bid process is not solely based on a 'dollar' amount.  Applicants can bid any combination of monetary amount and/or relevant product they feel appropriate for the consideration of this promotional spot.  Consider these examples; a newly published writer who 'bids' $100 plus 10 signed copies of their new book, a manufacturer of a unique product not normally found in a 'big box' store bids $50 plus a quantity of 5 of their product, or an artist who bids $0 plus 1 unique art piece.  Be creative, you never know until you try.  Those wishing to participate must submit an application for consideration (Application Here).  All applicants must have a web site, or a link to a web site containing any item(s) being considered for this promotion.  The applicant that receives Sponsor of the Week recognition will be required to set up a Sponsor Account.  There are no costs associated with setting up a Sponsor Account.  Award notifications will be made by phone and confirmed via email a minimum of 60 days prior to the winner's scheduled coverage.  Winning applicant's bid must be received 30 days prior to scheduled advertisement coverage or forfeit their scheduled promotion.  Any item(s) received as part of a winning bid become the property of Tack-it.  In turn, they may be used to raise funds for local charitable organizations, or become prizes as part of Tack-it promotions.  Tack-it reserves the right to cancel any scheduled Sponsor of the Week participant at any time for any reason.  Tack-it will return any bid and/or item(s) received as part of the 'bidding' process only if the participant's scheduled coverage is canceled by Tack-it.  Tack-it is not responsible, nor will any refund be made if participant in this promotion fails to properly create and maintain a Tack-it Sponsor Account or associated web site prior to their scheduled promotional period.  Tack-it makes no warranty as to the outcome, response rate, or resulting sales to any participant who receives this promotional recognition.  Tack-it, in the event of unforeseen technical issues that result in severe web site access limitations, and in its' sole discretion, may reschedule any affected promotional time slot or return the bid in part or in full.

  Receive recognition on a national level to all Tack-it users as part of our '"Unique Sponsor of the Week' program.  Tack-it's 'Unique Sponsor of the Week' is one of three specialized and nationally recognized sponsor positions.  The ad spot is awarded to applicants based solely on the uniqueness of the product or specialized service they offer.  There are no fees.  Those wishing to participate must submit an application to be considered (Application Here).  All applicants must have a web site, or a link to a web site containing the item(s) or specialized service being considered for this promotion.  The applicant that receives this recognition will be required to set up a Sponsor Account.  There are no costs associated with setting up a Sponsor Account.  Award notifications will be made a minimum of 30 days prior to the winner's scheduled coverage.  Tack-it reserves the right to cancel any scheduled Unique Sponsor of the Week participant at any time for any reason.  Tack-it makes no warranty as to the outcome, response rate, or resulting sales to any participant who receives this promotional recognition.

FAQ

What is a 'Sponsor Account'?  A Tack-it 'Sponsor Account' is the first step in the process to reach Tack-it users.  There are no costs associated with setting up a Sponsor Account.  Following the initial set-up process, you will have access to your Sponsor Account and can begin to purchase subscriptions.  Sponsor Accounts provide a number of tools that work to assist in drawing attention to each sponsor.  Each independently controlled Sponsor Account is allowed up to six graphic display style advertisements.  Individual controls allow the sponsor to determine which ads are available for display, reports on the number of times each is displayed and number of times 'clicked', hyperlink controls, and more.  You must have an active Sponsor Account in order to participate in any marketing or promotional opportunity on Tack-it. Only one (1) Sponsor Account permitted per entity.

Are there restrictions to becoming a 'Sponsor'?  Yes.  Tack-it, although nation wide, breaks its' services down to the community level.  At the community level Tack-it offers sponsorship (advertisement) opportunities to local small business owners. In an effort to maintain a 'community centered' feel to our site, Tack-it maintains strict guidelines as to whom is able to become a sponsor.  The services provided by our site to the general public are community based, family friendly, and free to all our users.  Access is determined at the community level, and as such Tack-it users are greeted by relevant local and regional business sponsors/advertisers.  Please review our Sponsor Terms & Conditions for further details regarding restrictions and/or guidelines.

Do I need my own web site?  No.  With the availability of loading display advertisements directly into your Sponsor Account the need for having your own web site is not required.  Your display ads can contain any information needed for the customer to find you.  However, having your own web site would allow more flexibility for providing customers with added information, deals, etc.  You can be up and running fast, simply upload a 'jpeg' or 'png' copy of your business card into your new Sponsor Account.  This will get you coverage while you take time to create additional advertisements.

What is a Sponsor 'Subscription'?  A Sponsor 'Subscription' is the process of purchasing any specific and available marketing opportunities throughout Tack-it.  Tack-it supports three primary Subscription types.  Each is designed to focus your marketing efforts towards a specific group, community, or region.  Subscriptions are purchased in 1 year increments.  A Tack-it Sponsor Subscription gives the small business more control to effectively target market in their respective communities, while at much less of an investment than more traditional marketing media.

How many Sponsor Subscriptions can I purchase?  There are some restrictions to the total number of Subscriptions a Sponsor may purchase.  Listed below are the limits, if any;

Local Sponsor  Unlimited

Local Category Sponsor  Unlimited

Regional Sponsor  Limit 2 Regional Subscriptions per Sponsor Account.

Charity of the Month  Award based.

Sponsor of the Week  Award based.

Unique Sponsor of the Week  Award based.

What coverage does a Subscription get me?  Coverage is determined in three levels.  These levels are by; community (determined by primary 5 digit postal code), by region (determined by state), and nationally (all 50 states in the US).  Listed below are the levels of coverage for each subscription type;

Local Sponsor  Community (5 digit primary postal code).

Local Category Sponsor  Community (5 digit primary postal code) and associated Classified Category.

Regional Sponsor  Regional (based on state).

Who sees my ads and how?  Access is determined at the community level, and as such Tack-it users are greeted by relevant local and regional sponsors/advertisers.  If you have a paid subscription that covers a given community or region, users entering Tack-it from that area may see your advertisements.  In order for a user to access the free services available from Tack-it, a postal code is entered.  This determines the user's location at the community and regional levels and in turn displays advertisements from within that user's community or region.  Any relevant Subscription and the associated Sponsor Account advertisements, as determined by each web page and specific ad spot, are then displayed.  In any circumstance there is more than one available Subscription spot within a specific geographic location as determined by the Subscription type, and more than one Subscription has been purchased, display selection of a Sponsor Account is performed randomly, each time the page is loaded.

Are there limits to the number of Subscription spots?  Yes.  In order to maximize each Sponsor's chances to reach Tack-it users, limits have been set to the total number of available Subscriptions.  Care has been taken to balance which specific Subscriptions are displayed and the pages each is displayed on.  Listed below are the subscription limits within each noted subscription type;

Local Sponsor  Limit of 20 per community (postal code).

Local Category Sponsor  Only 1 per associated Classified Category, per associated community (postal code).

Regional Sponsor  Limit 15 per Region (state).

Charity of the Month  Only 1 nationally.

Sponsor of the Week  Only 1 nationally.

Unique Sponsor of the Week  Only 1 nationally.

Which sponsor Subscriptions are on what pages?  Specific Subscription types are requested evenly among the web site pages an average user is anticipated to see.  We encourage you to take a tour of our site.  As you do, note the 'Sponsor' labels located above each sponsor advertisement.

What are the odds of my advertisements being seen?  First, take into consideration that a large percentage of Tack-it users are expected to return multiple times throughout each year.  At present, Tack-it is still gathering information regarding the total average number of pages each visitor sees, and the average return visits per user.  We have compiled some statistics for the least favorable possible scenario.  The greatest number of potential and available Sponsors for any given Subscription type/level on Tack-it in any random selection situation is 20 'Local' Subscriptions per a specific postal code.  Keep in mind that these odds are taking into account that all 20 Local Subscriptions are filled in addition to all Category Subscriptions being filled within the same postal code.  If at any point there is an available Category Subscription, the spot is automatically occupied with a randomly selected Local Subscription, thus increasing any odds of your advertisement being seen.  The odds that any one of your available advertisements will be displayed are as follows;

At 5 pages viewed, odds are 21.8% (per single user, per single visit)

At 10 pages viewed, odds are 38.6% (per single user, per single visit)

At 15 pages viewed, odds are 52.1% (per single user, per single visit)

Are Subscription renewals allowed?  Yes.  Sponsor Account owners will receive automated reminders when any subscription is due to expire.

How many years can a Subscription be purchased?  Currently the maximum number of years a subscription may be purchased is 5 years.

What forms of payment are accepted?  At present, Tack-it only accepts payment by credit card.  Tack-it subscribes to a secure SSL Certification. In addition, all payments are run through Pay-Pal credit services.  No PayPal account is required for you to make your payment.  All transactions are encrypted for your protection.  No information will ever be requested from Tack-it users or Sponsors via e-mail.  Always visit Tack-it directly to access your account, never from a hyperlink provided by an email.

What are the benefits over 'traditional' advertising?
